Untouchable by Nicole De Coteau

Have you ever felt as if you had so many issues that God can't reach you? Maybe you just can't seem to trust people no matter how hard you try. Is your heart wounded because of the constant pain from situations in your past? Do you have a physical ailment and you have been outcast by family and friends.

I want you to know today no matter how outcast you may feel and that God can't reach you because of your issues, that is not true. People may have disregarded you as having issues, or being toxic, or that God can't use you because of your sinful past daughter of God I want you to know those are all lies of the enemy and that is not the heart of God for you. Let's take a look at this scripture below.

Matthew 9: 12-13 On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 13. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

No matter how broken, frail or sick you are whether spiritually or physically, Jesus came to make you whole. Your issues do not repel him but its what draws him to you.

Have you ever been judgmental of another sister because she had issues and years upon years may have gone by and you felt like there was no change in the individual's life? Did you pray for this sister or did you gather with your friends and gossip about her constant issues manifesting in certain situations?, Well, I have done this being self-righteous and critical until I became closer to God and he showed me his love for people. Let me tell you God's love for us is so beyond amazing and he is in no way shape or form like man. ( so, of course, I went into straight repentance way back to when I was a teenager and ask God to forgive me of my ignorance.

I want to invite you to take this moment to repent if you have been a voice that did not show mercy to another in their weakness.

Lets look at some one in the bible who was an outcast in society and the religious people in Jesus time.

The man with Leprosy (Matthew 8:1)

When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. 2 And, behold, there came a a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. 3. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I am willing ; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease. This disease mainly affects the skin, the peripheral nerves mucosal surface of the upper respiratory tract, and eyes. Some of the symptoms were muscle weakness, in the end, a whole foot or hand may drop off.

People with leprosy were outcasts and considered dead men walking. People in those times were required to stay at least 6 feet or more away from them depending on the conditions of the wind that day. They were mocked by society and often stoned by religious people. It was forbidden to touch a person with leprosy, so they had no friends, no help when they were in pain, they were wounded both physically and emotionally because no one wanted to be around them. I can imagine how lonely and rejected he must have felt.

This leper sought more than healing he desired to be cleansed and made whole he had faith in spite of how society saw him. Jesus came unto the scene and said yes he is willing to heal him. I believe he asked Jesus if he was willing because everybody else had given up on him. As stated earlier it was forbidden to touch a leper during those times because they were deemed as unclean. But Jesus reached out his hands touched him and said be made clean.

My question is why did Jesus touch him? he did not have to, he could have simply spoken a word and delivered him from his affliction.

I truly believe that Jesus deliberately chose to touch him, I believe he was showing him, son, I am not like the rest, it was his way of showing the man love and acceptance. Who knows how long it has been since someone physically touch him to show him, true love. But Jesus knows what we need, he understands how to love us and the ways in which to express just that.

If your reading this today I want you to understand your issues, your sins, your brokenness will never be too much for God. People can be so cruel sometimes and that's because they have never truly had an encounter with the Father's love for themselves. If you feel rejected by man please know God will never reject you, as dirty or filthy or unloving as you may feel at times know that Jesus will take you just as you are no judgment and he will love you back to life. Gods grace is sufficient for you, there is nothing you can do to earn his love its is freely given no price attached. Have Faith in the one who created you he sent his only son that you maybe set free from every pain whether emotional or physical. Say yes to him today give him your brokenness tell him how you feel I promise you he will never turn you away.
