As Christians, we all have been through various challenges to the point of throwing in the towel. After deciding to not walk away and fight back, I began to worship God and welcome his presence into my life like never before. One morning while in devotion, I asked the Father speak to me according to his word, Lord you know what my heart needs at this moment. And believe it or not, he took me to James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything.( new international version)
Daughters of God it is necessary that we face trials because this develops faith in God, its one thing to say you love God and that you have faith in him but its another to be tested and still feel the same way in the midst of the test. So we are tried to see just where our heart lies, what our responses will be, will we fight or will we give up (remember he has given us free will).
Perseverance: persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
The testing of our faith develops perseverance.
Verse 4: Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete not lacking anything.(new international version)
So God is saying to us in the midst of trials we must have faith because faith produces perseverance and by persevering, we are changing by the working of the Holy Spirit in us to make us mature that in the end we will be complete and lacking nothing.
We all are going through the process of sanctification, when we gave God our yes we were justified and now are being sanctified which is a life long process until Jesus returns.
I want to encourage you butterflies don't run from your process, from your trials, I know it's so hard at times, I know its hurts, I know it's lonely but in the end thereof when we meet Jesus face to face, all that matters is that we will be given the crown of life. What a day that will be, for nothing on this earth will compare to that glorious day.
James 1:12 (new international version)
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trials because when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
